I mentioned in a previous post that I have a freezer meal group so I thought I would do a post on how it works. I got the idea from Freezer Friends blog. I currently have a total of 3 people in our group which is fine with me since this is my first attempt at a freezer group. This is basically how it works:
- We make three (since that is the total number in our group) of the same thing
- The dish is only the main component of the meal plus anything that is required to make it a main dish. An example would be a box of uncooked pasta and homemade spaghetti with meatballs.
- Each person gets a specific category so there are no duplicates (categories are chicken no pasta, chicken with pasta, beef no pasta, beef with pasta, soups-stews-chili’s, other.) The categories are alternated each month.
- We meet once a month on the 2nd Tuesday every month at 7pm at the same location. So there is no confusion on when we meet.
- Each person brings a cooler to put the meals they will bringing home.
- Lastly, we swap.
It is super easy to organize. I do keep a running spreadsheet on who has done what so that I can keep track on who has cooked what category so that I know what to alternate. Other than that I send out a reminder email. It’s that simple plus you get some yummy meals that are in your freezer. It will give you at least one day off a week from cooking a whole meal start to finish.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. I have links and a more detailed explanation that I can pass on to those interested.
Today I took my 5-year-old daughter out for a little one on one time with mommy a much-needed event. She is my oldest and has three younger brothers so any time away where she can be 100% girl and get my attention is 100% priceless. Today I realized that she has grown into her personality and individuality. It is amazing to me what a span of one year let alone five will bring in the life of a little one. How she has changed from this little baby girl to a little girl who thinks she’s all grown up and knows everything. Didn’t we all think the same when we were that young. LOL. I wish I could keep her little but I know I must let go a little and let her venture and grow into the person God has destined her to be…its hard to do though the thought makes me want to cry and just hug her a little tighter.
Anyways I digress. Let me tell you a little bit about our date. We went for ice cream isn’t that what all of us love. Then to Victoria Secret….Love, that was more for me than her. Love, that I get a free panty coupon every couple of months and I had a bonus because my birthday is coming up so I also had $10 off. Underwear Heaven! Although I initially went for myself my little girl was excited because they had makeup, lotions, and perfumes she could try. It ended up being the perfect girlie place to bring her. She absolutely loved it and it was free at least for her. Then I took her into Children’s Place and ended up having a head band fashion show. She was so cute showing me every head band with a pose. A true little girl who loves to accessorize, were makeup, and dress up but she does love the mud too. I love it especially since she is my only girl. I love that she has her wonderful loving personality where everyone is instantly her friend, she loves all ages, and she has a little bit of shyness. She is perfect in every way. Of course I’m a little partial since she is mine.

There is just something special about twins. I know all babies are cute but twins just have some extra special cuteness. Of course it has to be that there are two babies but really its a twin thing. They have known each other since conception and it seems that wherever one is the other is either right beside him or close by. It is fun to see the bond blossom as they grow. They laugh at each other, crawl on top each other, hug each other, and even bite each other. I can’t wait till the talking begins. I can’t wait till I here their first conversation. It is truly a blessing from God to be able to witness his creation grow especially with the Twin connection.
Don’t get me wrong I love watching my older two who could basically be twins. They are only 19 months apart. They are fun to watch as well playing mommy and daddy or prince and princess. I just think being able to witness your children grow into their personalities is the most awesome thing about being a parent.
I was just thinking this morning what my favorite thing about each of my children: Eryn, I have to say I love that when she meets anybody that they are instantly her friend. She has such a loving spirit. It doesn’t matter the age from baby to teenager that person is her friend whether they want to be or not. Trey, I love that he is 100% boy but he still loves to cuddle and he never gives up. The Twins, I love that even though they are twins they still have their separate personality. Trenton is on the go and more independent but still loves his attention and as long as he has his pacifier he is ok. Trevor is more laid back and is happy to sit and watch while sucking his thumb. They are both cuddle bugs.
Children are a blessing from God and I thank him everyday for the blessings he has given me as well as all the patience that will be needed. LOL
So here are my twin boys. They are now 9 months old. I can’t believe it. Time has flown by. I feel like it was yesterday when they were born. I guess the busier you are the faster time goes by. Does anyone else feel this way? It is so sad that babies don’t just stay babies for long. I mean a year is not that long and I love the baby phase. I guess that is why some women keep having babies till they can’t anymore. I totally understand that desire. But for me I think I’m done although I could do one more as long as it isn’t twins again.
Don’t get me wrong I love my twin boys but it has not been the easiest. The pregnancy it a little bit more uncomfortable and the first 6 months are rough but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I believe it has help me become more of a patient mother and person. I don’t get upset over the little things like toys being everywhere. That is something new for me because I am such a clean and organizing freak. Which reminds me I’m going to post some things on organization so stay tuned. Hope you have enjoyed meeting 2 of the 4 kids. More to come.
So I decide to start a Blog…Oh my! My husband is the one who gave me the idea because I am always finding imformation useful and useless on the web that he was like” why don’t you put the info you find in a Blog so others don’t have the dig around the internet to find it.” Well I thought about it and decided to jump in and start blogging. This blog will be about anything….kids, health info, crafts, pinterests things I’ve tried, ect. Kind of an anything goes blog. I have four children, two of which are twin boys all under 5 yrs old. So you can say my life is busy but I enjoy it. Hope you enjoy!
