Toxic Home, Ect.

I have been on a kick lately to get rid of all the toxic substances in my home. These include cleaning supplies, skin care, makeup, baby care items, ect. I recently came upon a website that grades products on a scale of their toxicity. The really cool thing is that it also breaks the product down by ingredients of toxicity and why that ingredient is harmful or not. Here’s the website if your interested http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/.

In my research I have also found a wonderful company that has been around for 50 plus years that provides safe nontoxic cleaners, baby care, vitamins, weight loss, and body care products.

From Shaklee website : As the number one natural nutrition company in the   U.S., we’ve been making people   healthier for over 50 years.  And we’ve made it part of our job to make the planet healthier along the way.

We were doing it back when green was just a color and biodegradable was barely a word.  In fact, as early as 1960, we made one of the first biodegradable household cleaners ever.  And we were the first company in the world to obtain Climate Neutral™ certification and totally offset our CO2 emissions, resulting in a net zero impact on the environment.

I think this is pretty commendable for a big company to be concerned about how they operate their business. They seem to truly care for our earth and the consumer. They also do numerous third-party test on their products to make sure it meets there standards. That is more than we can say about the FDA right. If your interested Shaklee is offering a free membership with a purchase of any product for the month of April …. Here’s the link http://referral.myshaklee.com?referrer=F5819E93E2E7. This gives you 15% off any product you order.

I really love their Basic H2 which is an all-purpose cleaner, I have never had my countertops (granite) nor my windows as shiny and clean using anything else. I also use the laundry detergent and love it. I was making my own but this is just as economical and I hate to say it does a better job. Plus it treats stains as well.

I don’t know about you but I like for my kids to help me clean without the worry of them breathing or touching something that could be potentially harmful. It gives me peace of mind that I can hand them the Basic H2 and not have to worry if one sprays the other in the face because it’s not going to blind them and I won’t have to call poison control. Now that’s peace of mind plus I get to teach my children how to take care of a house with no worries.

I also have come upon some great makeup companies that are less toxic…When I try their products I will let you know.

If you have any questions about any of the above feel free to comment or message me.
